Aquarium Plumbing

Overview

Getting water to and from the sump is the main portion of the plumbing for the aquarium. The sump, located under the main tank, in the stand, allows for loud, messy, or large equipment the tank needs to be hidden out of sight. Gett the water to that out-of-sight sump, though, takes some work.

Water flows down to the sump through two internal overflows, one on each side of the tank. Water comes down two stretches of vinyl tubing and is dumped into the sump. Water from the sump is pumped back up with a Dolphin AMP 800 pump by way of fleixible vinyl tubing again.

All PVC plumbing is held together with generic PVC primer and cement.
